Steelworks
Time-critical blasting and coating
Steelworks is a structural steel fabrication company that has won multiple awards in recognition of the quality of their work. One of their projects has also received global recognition for excellence in sustainability.
Bay Sandblasting supply all of Steelwork’s blasting and coating requirements, often to a tight schedule. We handle everything from large steel frames, beams and portals, to smaller bespoke jobs.
Timing is critical for Steelworks. Jobs must be turned around quickly and we’re proud of our ability to move fast with zero compromise on quality.

"We have been working with Bay Sandblasting for 18 years, and they have consistently been our provider of choice for painting structural steel. Their proactive approach, combined with their excellent communication, has made them a reliable and easy partner to deal with. The quality of their work and their commitment to meeting our needs has contributed to the long-standing success of our relationship.”

Jensen Steel Fabricators
Delivering on difficult jobs
Jensen Steel Fabricators have their own in-house blasting and coating shop, but they turn to Bay Sandblasting when they have steelwork that’s oversized or requires specialist treatment.
Our blast booth has the ability to handle objects up to 40m long and is large enough to cater to extremely bulky structures.
Our combination of gantry cranes and combi-lifts helps us manoeuvre awkward structures - and with much of the work we do for Jensens being on structures that are more than 20m in length - it’s something we can easily accommodate.
Jensens also use us as an overflow resource, calling us to work on urgent jobs when they have too much work for their in-house shop.

Port of Tauranga
Ongoing maintenance services
We provide ongoing maintenance services, including rust removal and corrosion protection, for Port of Tauranga.
Part of our remit is the maintenance of the port’s shipping lane light towers. These 35m poles, weighing 8T, are transported in one piece from the port to our workshop for blasting and coating.
For Port of Tauranga we have a mobile unit to work on cranes, reefer towers and bulk hoppers. These units also work on a variety of vessels on-site at the port. These tugs, barges and pilot boats need to be blasted and coated to exact specifications to be effective in the harsh saltwater environment.
